It is the small town in the north of India in the Uttrakhand State. The place is a scenic beauty with Ganga river flows down from the Himalayas. Western musical band, Beatles catapulted it to west when they came here in Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s Ashram that is now closed. The inner city identified silently as the world capital of yoga. Many people called the place Gateway to the Himalayas. Hindu’s pilgrimage begins their journey of Char Dham Yatra i.e. the sacred journey of four shrines from Rishikesh.

Rishikesh Features-

The center of the city is busy usually with buses and train stations. This place does not interest people. Moving away in Northeast there are two bridges in the expansion called as Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula. Around a place, people engage in an activity and it is an interesting hub of visitors.

 What you can see in Rishikesh?

The correct time to make the visit is around August-October and February-march. You can visit many places here like-
  • Triveni ghat- This ghat is used for bathing. In the morning to evening, People daily came here to take bath and attend the Maha aarti. It is amazing to feel the breeze blowing on the face while sitting on the banks of the river.
  • Gita Bhawan- This is the place of Guru who was a great thinker of his time. People gather at his ashram to recite Ramayana.
  • Swarg Ashram- It is the picturesque place in the Himalayan land and on banks of Ganga.It is located near Laxman Jhula and Rishikesh. It is called ground zero for the spiritual person. The place has a large variety of temples and Ashram. The area is filled with the air of Satwik food. It is the place where Rishis and yogi carried on their tapasaya. Hindu scriptures have mentioned this spot in scriptures several times.
  • Parmarth Niketan- Here Kids are given educations for Veda; it is among few Ashrams left in India. This place glows during the pooja and aarti. The timings of the aarti are 6 pm n summers and 5 pm in winters.
  • Trayambakeshwar Temple- It is 13 stories high and has different dietes.
  • Music concert- Music concert is organized every Sunday in Veena Maharaja music school.

 Things to do in Rishikesh -

  • Rafting- It is the place for rafting Ganga and hugely visited by the youngsters. The best times are September -December, and March – June. The adventure goes a long way because the current of Ganga is rapid. You can dive into water up to 20 feet’s, this is your option.
  • Camping- It is an activity which interests people and does not have a limit of age. Anybody can enjoy recreational activity, and enjoy the empowering beauty of nature. The voyage offers to the chirp of birds, swim in the Ganga. Camping activity, therefore, is popular.
  • Rappelling- Rappelling is climbing down with the help of a rope. The cliff drop is taken to do this activity. A first expert person climbs down than the rest of team follows him. This activity is all about trust in the gear and then enjoying it.
  • Rock climbing- Climbing up the rock is also people favorite activity. This cannot be performed with everybody as it takes a lot of physical stamina.
  • Jumping the cliff- jumping into the freezing water from the cliff is included in this type of activity. It is the fun activity for the explorer. You can take back the memory to home and it’s not similar like jumping into the Swimming pool.
  • Trekking- A number of soft treks are found in Rishikesh but you should go with the group so that you will not get lost.
